Ingredients
Scale
For the Cheeseburger Pasta:
- 1 lb ground beef (80/20 or leaner)
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp paprika
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes (with juices)
- 3 cups beef broth
- 8 oz pasta (elbow macaroni, rotini, or shells)
- ½ cup heavy cream (or whole milk)
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ cup mozzarella cheese (optional)
Optional Toppings:
- Chopped pickles
- Ketchup & mustard drizzle
- Crumbled bacon
- Fresh parsley or green onions
Instructions
- Brown the Beef: In a large skillet or Dutch oven, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until browned. Drain excess grease if needed.
- Sauté the Aromatics: Add diced onion and minced garlic. Cook for 2-3 minutes until softened.
- Add Seasonings & Tomato Paste: Stir in salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, Worcestershire sauce, and tomato paste until well combined.
- Pour in Tomatoes & Broth: Add diced tomatoes with juices and beef broth. Stir to combine.
- Cook the Pasta: Stir in uncooked pasta, ensuring it’s submerged in the liquid. Cover and simmer for 12-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add Cheese & Cream: Reduce heat to low, stir in heavy cream, cheddar cheese, and mozzarella, and mix until melted and creamy.
- Serve & Garnish: Let the pasta rest for 5 minutes, then top with pickles, bacon, or fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
- Use Freshly Shredded Cheese: Pre-shredded cheese may not melt as smoothly.
- Don’t Overcook Pasta: Simmer just until al dente for the best texture.
- Adjust the Liquid: Add a splash of broth if the sauce thickens too much.
- Make It Spicy: Add red pepper flakes or jalapeños for heat.
- Reheat Properly: Add a little milk or broth when reheating to maintain creaminess
