For the Puff Pastry:

  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds or poppy seeds (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Filling

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and sauté garlic until fragrant.
  2. Add chopped spinach and cook for 2-3 minutes until wilted.
  3. Remove from heat and mix in shredded chicken, cream cheese, mozzarella, salt, pepper, and nutmeg.

2. Prepare the Puff Pastry

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface.
  3. Cut into squares or rectangles, depending on your desired serving size.

3. Assemble the Pastry

  1. Spoon the prepared filling onto one side of each pastry piece.
  2. Fold over the pastry and press the edges with a fork to seal.
  3. Beat the egg with water and brush over the pastry for a golden finish.
  4. Sprinkle sesame or poppy seeds on top (optional).

4. Bake

  1. Arrange the pastries on a lined baking sheet.
  2. Bake for 18-22 minutes or until golden brown and puffed up.
  3. Let cool slightly before serving.
