- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
For the Creamy Chipotle Sauce:
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 chipotle peppers in adobo sauce, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon adobo sauce (from the chipotle can)
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ½ cup chicken broth
- ½ teaspoon cumin
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
- Juice of 1 lime
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the Shrimp: In a bowl, season shrimp with salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, and garlic powder.
- Cook the Shrimp: Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook shrimp for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- Make the Sauce: In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté garlic for 30 seconds. Add chopped chipotle peppers and adobo sauce, stirring to release flavors.
- Add Liquids & Seasoning: Pour in heavy cream and chicken broth, stirring well. Add cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 3-5 minutes until thickened.
- Enhance Creaminess: Stir in grated Parmesan (if using) and mix until melted.
- Combine & Finish: Return shrimp to the skillet, coat in sauce, and cook for 2 more minutes. Squeeze lime juice and garnish with fresh cilantro.
- Serve Immediately: Enjoy over rice, pasta, tacos, or vegetables
Notes
- Control Spice Level: Start with one chipotle pepper and add more for extra heat.
- Dairy-Free Option: Use coconut milk instead of heavy cream.
- Enhance Flavor: Use hot chicken broth for a deeper taste.
- Don’t Overcook Shrimp: They cook quickly—remove once pink and opaque.
- Store & Reheat Properly: Keep leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat over low heat to prevent sauce from separating.
