½ cup sour cream
-
2 tbsp milk or broth
Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease or line a baking dish.
-
Prepare coating: Crush crackers and place in a shallow bowl. Put shredded cheddar and milk in separate bowls.

Pound chicken: Flatten chicken breasts to even thickness. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
-
Dredge: Dip each chicken piece in milk, then cheese, then coat in cracker crumbs—press crumbs on well.

-
Make sauce (optional): In a small saucepan, mix cream of chicken soup, sour cream, and milk. Heat until warm and smooth. Serve over chicken.
Notes
-
Use freshly shredded cheese for best melt and texture.
-
Press the cracker coating firmly onto the chicken to help it stick.
-
Bake uncovered for a crispier crust.
-
Use a wire rack in the pan for more even crisping.
