Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Cheesecake Filling
- In a bowl, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Fold in crushed Oreo cookies and mix well.
- Scoop small portions (about 1 teaspoon each) and roll into small balls.
- Place on a lined baking sheet and freeze for at least 30 minutes until firm.
Step 2: Prepare the Batter
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk milk, egg, and vanilla extract until combined.
- Gradually mix the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until a smooth batter forms.
Step 3: Heat the Oil
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or heavy-bottomed pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Make sure the oil is hot enough to fry evenly but not too hot to burn the batter.
Step 4: Coat and Fry the Cheesecake Bites
- Dip each frozen cheesecake ball into the batter, ensuring full coverage.
- Carefully drop them into the hot oil, frying 3-4 at a time.
- Fry for 1-2 minutes per side or until golden brown.
- Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
Step 5: Garnish and Serve
- Dust with powdered sugar for a finishing touch.
- Sprinkle with extra crushed Oreos for added crunch.
- Serve warm with chocolate sauce, caramel, or whipped cream.
Notes
✔ Freeze the cheesecake filling – Ensures they hold their shape while frying.
✔ Use a thick batter – Helps create a crispy and golden coating.
✔ Maintain oil temperature – Too hot, and the batter burns; too low, and they absorb too much oil.
✔ Work in small batches – Avoid overcrowding the fryer for even cooking.
✔ Serve immediately – These taste best fresh and warm.
