Instructions

Step 1: Marinate the Chicken

  1. In a large bowl, combine Greek yogurt, olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, and all the spices.
  2. Add the chicken breasts or thighs and coat them evenly in the marinade.
  3. Cover and let it marinate for at least 2 hours (or overnight for best flavor).

Step 2: Cook the Chicken

  1. Grill Method: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat and cook the chicken for 5-7 minutes per side until fully cooked.
  2. Stovetop Method: Heat a large skillet over medium heat and cook the chicken for 5-6 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through.
  3. Oven Method: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake the chicken for 20-25 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  4. Rest and Slice: Let the cooked chicken rest for 5 minutes, then slice it into thin strips.

Step 3: Prepare the Sauces

  1. Garlic Yogurt Sauce: Mix all the ingredients in a bowl until smooth.
  2. Spicy Red Sauce: Combine tomato paste, red pepper flakes, cumin, vinegar, olive oil, and salt in a small bowl.

Step 4: Assemble the Doner Bowl

  1. Start with a base of cooked basmati rice (or your preferred grain).
  2. Add shredded lettuce, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, and red onions.
  3. Place the sliced chicken on top.
  4. Drizzle with garlic yogurt sauce and spicy red sauce.
  5. Garnish with fresh parsley, feta cheese, sesame seeds, and lemon wedges.
