A simple and delicious recipe for banana bread that is easy to make and perfect for using up ripe bananas.

- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan or line with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mix melted butter and brown sugar until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla, whisking until well combined.
- Stir in the mashed bananas.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Avoid over-mixing.
- Fold in walnuts or chocolate chips if desired.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the banana bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- Make sure the bananas are very ripe for the best flavor.
- Store leftover banana bread in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
- This recipe can be easily doubled for a larger batch.
