  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan or line with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix melted butter and brown sugar until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla, whisking until well combined.
  3. Stir in the mashed bananas.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Avoid over-mixing.
  5. Fold in walnuts or chocolate chips if desired.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Let the banana bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
