  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley or thyme
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Prepare the Bread: Brush each slice of bread with olive oil or butter and place them on a baking sheet.
  • Sauté the Mushrooms: In a pan over medium heat, add a bit of olive oil or butter, then toss in the minced garlic. Sauté for 30 seconds before adding the sliced mushrooms.
  • Season and Cook: Cook the mushrooms for about 5 minutes until they become soft and slightly browned. Add salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  • Assemble the Toasts: Spoon the mushroom mixture onto each slice of toasted bread, then sprinkle with shredded cheese.
  • Melt the Cheese: Place the toasts back into the oven for 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly
