- 2 eggs
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup cornstarch
- 1 tsp garlic powder

- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
- Vegetable oil for frying
For the Hot Honey Sauce:
- 1/2 cup honey
- 2 tbsp hot sauce (Frank’s RedHot or Sriracha)
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- Pinch of salt

Marinate the Chicken:
- In a bowl, mix buttermilk and eggs.
- Add chicken pieces and coat well.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (or overnight for best results).

Prepare the Breading:
- In another bowl, combine flour, cornstarch, and seasonings.
- Remove chicken from buttermilk, dredge in flour mixture, and coat evenly.
- Let the coated chicken rest for 5-10 minutes.

- Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry chicken in batches for 8-10 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
- Drain on a wire rack.

- In a saucepan, heat honey, hot sauce, butter, red pepper flakes, apple cider vinegar, and garlic powder over medium heat.
- Stir until well combined, then remove from heat.

- Double-Coating: For extra crispiness, dip the chicken in buttermilk again after the first flour coating, then re-coat with flour.
