Description

Make the best Lemon Butter Chicken with a rich, creamy sauce & fresh lemon zest. A quick & easy dinner ready in under 30 minutes!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ cup chicken broth (or white wine)
  • ¼ cup fresh lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ cup heavy cream (optional for a creamy version)
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  • Prepare the Chicken: Pat dry the chicken and season both sides with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  • Sear the Chicken: Heat 1 tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the chicken for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  • Make the Sauce: Add the remaining butter and garlic to the pan, sauté for 30 seconds. Pour in chicken broth, scraping the brown bits. Add lemon juice, zest, and Italian seasoning. Simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  • Creamy Option: Stir in heavy cream and let it thicken for 2 minutes.
  • Combine & Serve: Return the chicken to the pan, coat it with the sauce, and cook for another 2 minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use fresh lemon juice for the best flavor.
  • Don’t overcook the chicken – use a thermometer to check for 165°F.
  • For extra richness, add a tablespoon of Parmesan cheese to the sauce.
  • Make it spicy by adding red pepper flakes.
  • Pair it with pasta, rice, or roasted veggies for a complete meal.
