For the Pasta:
- 12 oz pasta (linguine, fettuccine, or penne)
- 1 tbsp salt (for boiling water)
For the Shrimp:
- 1 lb large shrimp (peeled and deveined)
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp paprika
- 1 tbsp olive oil
For the Creamy Sauce:
- 2 tbsp butter
- 4 cloves garlic (minced)
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- ¾ cup sun-dried tomatoes (chopped)
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ½ cup chicken or seafood broth
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- ¼ cup fresh basil (chopped)
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- Additional salt and pepper to taste
For Garnishing:
- Extra Parmesan cheese
- Fresh parsley or basil
Instructions
- Cook the Pasta: Boil salted water and cook pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Sauté the Shrimp: Season shrimp with salt, pepper, and paprika. Heat olive oil in a skillet and cook shrimp for 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
- Prepare the Sauce: Melt butter in the skillet, sauté garlic and red pepper flakes, then add sun-dried tomatoes and Italian seasoning. Pour in heavy cream and broth, stirring well.
- Add Cheese & Shrimp: Stir in Parmesan cheese and let the sauce simmer for 3-4 minutes. Add shrimp back to the skillet.
- Combine with Pasta: Toss in cooked pasta, stirring to coat evenly. Adjust sauce consistency with pasta water if needed.
- Garnish & Serve: Sprinkle with fresh basil, Parmesan cheese, and parsley. Serve immediately.
