- 1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup orange juice
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 cup fresh orange juice
- Zest of 1 orange
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Whipped cream for topping (optional)
- Orange slices for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC). Grease a 9ร13 inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, eggs, 1 cup orange juice, and vegetable oil. Mix until well combined and smooth.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes. Then, using the handle of a wooden spoon, poke holes all over the top of the cake.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk, honey, 1/4 cup orange juice, orange zest, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Pour the honey-orange glaze evenly over the warm cake, allowing it to soak into the holes.
- Let the cake cool completely, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow the flavors to meld.
- Before serving, top with whipped cream and garnish with orange slices if desired.
