  • 6 strips bacon, chopped

  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

For the Cheese Mixture:

  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning

For the Lasagna Layers:

  • 12 lasagna noodles (oven-ready or cooked)
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup crumbled cooked bacon
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Cook the Bacon & Meat: In a large skillet, cook chopped bacon until crispy. Remove and set aside. In the same skillet, cook ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
  • Make the Sauce: Add onion and garlic to the skillet, sauté for 2 minutes. Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, oregano, paprika, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 15-20 minutes.
  • Prepare the Cheese Mixture: In a bowl, mix ricotta, mozzarella, Parmesan, sour cream, egg, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning until smooth.
  • Cook Lasagna Noodles: If using oven-ready noodles, skip this step. Otherwise, cook according to package instructions and drain.
  • Assemble the Lasagna:
    • Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in a 9×13-inch baking dish.
    • Layer lasagna noodles on top.
    • Spread half the cheese mixture over noodles.
    • Sprinkle with crumbled bacon and cheddar cheese.
    • Repeat layers, finishing with cheese and bacon on top.
  • Bake: Cover with foil and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake another 15 minutes, until cheese is golden and bubbly.
  • Rest & Serve: Let the lasagna sit for 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh parsley and enjoy!
