Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup onion, chopped

  • 1 cup celery, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat.

  3. Add the chopped onion, bell pepper, celery, and garlic to the roux, cooking until the vegetables are soft.
  4. Slowly add the seafood stock, stirring to combine and prevent lumps.
  5. Stir in the Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  6. Add the shrimp and cook until they are pink and cooked through.
  7. Serve the shrimp mixture over cooked white rice and garnish with chopped green onions.
