Ingredients

Scale

For the Garlic Bread:

  • 1 large loaf of French or Italian bread
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese (for topping)

For the Spaghetti Filling:

  • 6 oz spaghetti noodles
  • 1 ½ cups marinara sauce (homemade or store-bought)
  • ½ lb ground beef or Italian sausage (optional)
  • ½ cup ricotta cheese
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional for heat)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

Step 1: Cook the Spaghetti

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  • Cook the spaghetti until al dente, according to package instructions.
  • Drain and toss with marinara sauce, cooked ground beef (if using), ricotta, mozzarella, Parmesan, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes.

Step 2: Prepare the Garlic Bread

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Slice the French bread in half lengthwise, ensuring not to cut all the way through.
  • In a small bowl, mix together melted butter, minced garlic, parsley, salt, and black pepper.
  • Brush the garlic butter mixture liberally over the inside of the bread.

Step 3: Stuff the Bread with Spaghetti

  • Carefully fill the hollowed-out bread with the prepared spaghetti mixture.
  • Sprinkle extra mozzarella cheese on top for a cheesy crust.

Step 4: Bake to Perfection

  • Place the stuffed bread on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes, until the cheese melts and turns slightly golden.
  • Allow it to cool slightly before slicing into portions.

Notes

Use sturdy bread: French or Italian bread works best to hold the filling without becoming soggy.
Cook spaghetti al dente: This prevents it from becoming mushy when baked.
Customize the sauce: Try spicy arrabbiata, Alfredo, or pesto for a different twist.
Add protein: Enhance the dish with grilled chicken, sausage, or mushrooms.
Brush the inside with butter: This helps seal the bread and keeps it crispy.
Make ahead: Prepare everything in advance, refrigerate, and bake when ready.
