- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup milk
- 1/4 cup baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix sliced strawberries with granulated sugar and set aside.
- In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the milk to the butter mixture and mix well.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Pour the batter into a greased cake pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool completely.
- Whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar until soft peaks form.
- Once the cake is cooled, slice it in half horizontally.
- Layer the bottom half with strawberries and whipped cream, then place the top half of the cake on top.
- Top with more strawberries and whipped cream before serving.
Notes
- For best results, use fresh, ripe strawberries.
- This dessert can be made ahead of time; just assemble it before serving.
- Feel free to add a splash of vanilla extract to the whipped cream for extra flavor.
