Description

Sweet & Savory Korean Galbi is a delicious dish featuring BBQ marinated short ribs that are tender, flavorful, and perfect for grilling.


Ingredients

  • 2 lbs beef short ribs
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup rice wine
  • 1/4 cup minced garlic
  • 1/4 cup grated ginger
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, rice wine, garlic, ginger, green onions, sesame seeds, and black pepper to create the marinade.
  2. Add the beef short ribs to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated.
  3. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
  4. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  5. Remove the ribs from the marinade and let excess marinade drip off.
  6. Grill the ribs for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they are cooked to your desired doneness.
  7. Remove from the grill and let rest for a few minutes before serving.
  8. Garnish with additional chopped green onions and sesame seeds if desired.

Notes

  • For best results, marinate the ribs overnight.
  • Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less brown sugar according to your taste.
  • Serve with steamed rice and kimchi for a complete meal.
