For the Stir Fry:
- 1 lb venison steak, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch

- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (for stir-frying)
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 1 cup broccoli florets
- 1/2 cup carrots, julienned
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for spice)
- 2 tablespoons green onions, chopped (for garnish)
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
For the Stir Fry Sauce:
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon honey or brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch, dissolved in 2 tablespoons of water
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Venison
- Slice the venison steak thinly against the grain for tenderness.
- In a bowl, toss venison slices with cornstarch and soy sauce. Let marinate for 10-15 minutes to enhance tenderness and flavor.
Step 2: Make the Stir Fry Sauce
- In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, sesame oil, rice vinegar, and cornstarch slurry.
- Set aside until ready to use.
Step 3: Stir-Fry the Venison
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add marinated venison slices and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned but not overcooked.
- Remove from the pan and set aside.
Step 4: Stir-Fry the Vegetables
- In the same pan, add another tablespoon of vegetable oil.
- Stir-fry garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add bell peppers, broccoli, and carrots. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until slightly tender but still crisp.
Step 5: Combine Everything
- Return the venison to the pan with the vegetables.
- Pour in the stir fry sauce and toss everything together.
- Cook for another 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the ingredients evenly.
Step 6: Serve & Enjoy
- Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
- Serve hot over steamed rice, quinoa, or noodles.
