P

  • reheat & Prepare – Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour three 8-inch cake pans or line them with parchment paper.
  • Mix Dry Ingredients – In a medium bowl, whisk together cake flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

  • Incorporate Extracts – Mix in almond and vanilla extracts for that signature wedding cake flavor.
  • Alternate Dry & Wet Ingredients – Gradually add the dry ingredients, alternating with milk and sour cream, mixing just until combined.
  • Bake the Cake – Divide the batter evenly between the three cake pans and bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Cool the Cakes – Allow cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

  • Frost & Decorate – Spread frosting between layers and over the entire cake. Decorate with pearls, flowers, or slivered almonds.

  • Don’t overmix the batter to keep it airy.
  • For extra almond flavor, brush cake layers with almond syrup before frosting.
