Description
Make this easy Apple Cinnamon Dump Cake with simple ingredients! A warm, spiced, and buttery dessert that’s perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cans (21 oz each) apple pie filling
- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 1 cup unsalted butter (melted or cut into thin slices)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional for added crunch)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Spread the apple pie filling evenly in the greased baking dish. If using fresh apples, toss them with sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice first.
- Sprinkle ground cinnamon over the apples for extra warmth and flavor.
- Evenly spread the dry cake mix over the apple layer—do not stir.
- Distribute butter slices evenly over the top, or drizzle melted butter across the surface.
- Optional: Sprinkle chopped pecans or walnuts over the cake for a nutty crunch.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes until the top is golden brown and crispy.
- Let cool for 5-10 minutes before serving warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
Notes
- Use spice cake mix instead of yellow cake mix for extra cinnamon flavor.
- For a crispier topping, mix ½ cup of oats into the dry cake mix before baking.
- Fresh apples? Use 4-5 peeled and sliced apples mixed with ¼ cup sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon.
- Add caramel drizzle after baking for a richer taste.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.
- Reheat in the microwave for 30 seconds for a warm, fresh-out-of-the-oven taste.
