  • 1 carrot, julienned

  • 2 tablespoons green onions, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)

For the Lo Mein Sauce:

  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for spice)
  • 1 tablespoon water

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Ingredients

  1. Cook the noodles according to the package instructions, drain, and set aside.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the lo mein sauce ingredients and set aside.
  3. In another bowl, toss the sliced beef with cornstarch and soy sauce, coating evenly. Let it marinate for 10 minutes.

Step 2: Cook the Beef

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes, until browned. Remove from the pan and set aside.

Step 3: Stir-Fry the Vegetables

  1. In the same pan, add broccoli, carrots, and bell peppers.
  2. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until slightly tender.
  3. Add garlic and ginger and stir-fry for another 30 seconds.

Step 4: Combine Everything

  1. Return the cooked beef to the pan.
  2. Add the cooked noodles and pour in the lo mein sauce.
  3. Toss everything together and stir-fry for 2 more minutes to combine flavors.
  4. Remove from heat and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
