- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon fresh dill or parsley, chopped
Instructions
1️⃣ Prepare the Salmon
- If using fresh salmon, cook it in a pan over medium heat for 3-4 minutes per side, then flake it with a fork.
- If using canned salmon, drain it well and remove any large bones if desired.
2️⃣ Mix the Patty Ingredients
- In a large bowl, combine salmon, breadcrumbs, egg, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, parsley, onion, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, and lemon juice.
- Mix until well combined. If the mixture feels too wet, add a little more breadcrumbs.
- Shape the mixture into patties, about ½ inch thick.
3️⃣ Cook the Salmon Patties
- Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Place the patties in the pan and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy.
- Transfer to a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil.
4️⃣ Make the Lemon Garlic Sauce
- In a small bowl, whisk together Greek yogurt (or mayonnaise), lemon juice, lemon zest, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and fresh dill or parsley.
- Mix until smooth and creamy.
- Let the sauce sit for 5 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
5️⃣ Serve and Enjoy
- Serve the crispy salmon patties with a generous drizzle of lemon garlic sauce.
- Garnish with extra fresh parsley or lemon wedges.
- Enjoy with a side of steamed vegetables, salad, or rice.
Notes
✔ Use fresh ingredients – Fresh salmon and herbs provide the best flavor.
✔ Drain canned salmon well – Prevents soggy patties.
✔ Chill the mixture before shaping – Helps patties hold their shape.
✔ Don’t overcrowd the pan – Fry in batches for even cooking.
✔ Let patties rest before serving – This allows them to set and hold their shape better.
