Make crispy, flavorful salmon patties in just 20 minutes! A healthy, protein-packed meal that’s easy, delicious, and perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Salmon Patties:

  • 1 can (14-15 oz) salmon, drained and flaked (or 2 cups cooked fresh salmon)
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs (or crushed crackers)
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • ¼ cup finely diced onion
  • 2 tablespoons finely diced celery (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking)
  • 1 tablespoon butter (for cooking)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Salmon:

    • If using canned salmon, drain well and remove any bones/skin if preferred.
    • If using fresh salmon, cook it (bake at 375°F for 12-15 minutes or pan-sear), flake with a fork, and let cool.
  • Mix the Ingredients:

    • In a large bowl, combine salmon, breadcrumbs, egg, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, parsley, onion, and celery.
    • Mix well until the mixture forms a cohesive dough.
  • Shape the Patties:

    • Form into 4-6 evenly sized patties, about ½-inch thick.
    • If the mixture is too wet, add extra breadcrumbs; if too dry, add a bit of mayo or an extra egg yolk.
  • Cook the Salmon Patties:

    • Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium heat.
    • Once hot, place the patties in the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
    • Remove and place on a paper towel-lined plate.
  • Serve & Enjoy:

    • Serve hot with lemon wedges and your favorite dipping sauce (tartar sauce, garlic aioli, or spicy mayo).

Notes

  • Use Fresh Ingredients: Fresh lemon juice and parsley enhance the flavor.
  • Chill Before Cooking: Refrigerate patties for 15 minutes before frying to help them hold shape.
  • Don’t Overmix: Keeps patties light and tender.
  • Use a Hot Pan: Ensures a crispy, golden crust.
  • Make Ahead & Freeze: Store uncooked patties in a freezer-safe bag for up to 3 months.
  • Air Fryer Option: Cook at 375°F for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through
